You enter the small mill shop and you immediately feel at home.
Guntram or a member of the team comes to greet you with a phrase typical for Austria:
Maybe you’re with your kids. They can’t wait to go inside and are jumping around in excitement.
You listen to how pumpkin seed oil is made and how Hamlitsch has been producing pumpkin seed oil for three generations already.
It’s so much fun and you are amazed at what there is to learn about pumpkin seed oil and its production.
For example, with each new harvest we need to treat the pumpkin seeds differently, based on the quality of the batch.
He has it in his fingertips how long the ground seeds need to be roasted to later get the best oil out of them.
On our tour you’ll experience the path from pumpkin seed to pumpkin seed oil and how healthy food is produced.
Looking at the production process gives you an idea of how much manual work goes into this oil and you will be fascinated to see how the roasted pumpkin seeds are filled into the press by hand.
You can also watch the bottling process and see how the bottles are filled with the oil and labelled.
The green and white label, which is put on at the end, is the sign for original Styrian pumpkin seed oil P.G.I.
Guntram will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Depending on the interest and age of the group, he adapts the duration and content of the tour so that everyone is happy.
